Brandon Chilcote Wallace’s music comes from his heart. He is as comfortable sharing his music with the rabbits while standing under Pechanga’s Great Oak as he is in front of an audience of one thousand people in The Immaculata at the University of San Diego.
Brandon composes much of his own music which he plays on a variety of handmade Indian flutes. He also plays traditional California Indian songs. Brandon has an interest in musicology and often speaks to students about the history of Indian music and instruments in early California. In addition to the flute, Brandon also plays piano, violin, mandolin, didgeridoo, harmonica, and is learning banjo. He appreciates a variety of music styles.

Brandon often plays solo performances at schools, community events, private parties, cultural events, and PowWows. He may be booked through the contact number on this website.
In 2005 Brandon gave three performances for the “Spirit of the People American Indian Artists” at the Springfield Community Art Gallery in San Diego. He performed solo and duets with artist/musician Chato Hinojoso. Brandon’s flute presentations to students from Rincon Middle School in Escondido, California in March 2005 were well received. In October 2004, Brandon had the honor of playing a flute duet with his mentor, Mac Lopez, in “A Native American Flute Concert-The Story of the Redtail Hawk” at the Poway Performing Arts Center. In 2004 he shared his music at the dedication ceremonies of Luiseño Park in Oceanside and the Haramokngna American Indian Cultural Center in the Angeles National Forest. He has performed flute solos at Indian Culture Days in Balboa Park since 2002. His first public performance was a duet with Mac Lopez at the San Luis Rey PowWow in 2002. Brandon has also provided background music for student cultural and environmental video projects at California State University, San Marcos. Brandon is always happy to share his music at birthday celebrations and other events honoring tribal elders. |
